Coming up with creative and effective ways to “Sell more Stuff” has been a way of life for Sarah Kaufmann for the last 39 years. No stranger to dairy and cheese promotion Kaufmann has applied her graphic and commercial art talents to “sell more cheese” as Creative Director for the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and ADA of Wisconsin from 1981 to 1996. There she worked on the advertising, PR, education and market development teams that created the new cutting-edge programs promoting Wisconsin cheese and dairy products across the US to consumer, retail and foodservice markets.
In 1996 the Wisconsin native packed up her creative energy and cheese promotion hat and “jumped states” to Ohio where she hit the promotion jungle running as Manager, Creative Services and Advertising for Jungle Jim’s International Market, Fairfield (Cincinnati). This six-acre “World of Food” mega-supermarket sports a brand new two-acre addition featuring a show-stopping cheese shop with 1600 kinds of cheese, butter, and sausage; plus deli, olive bar, sushi and wine/beer/spirits (among numerous other food ‘attractions’) is under Kaufmann’s charge to “Sell more Stuff”. Designing and creating bigger-than-life displays, advertising, PR, special events and crazy projects fall under her care to help keep the over-50,000- shoppers- a-week number climbing.
Sarah has also perfected her ability to ‘Sell more Cheese’ as - The Cheese lady - a nationally recognized cheese sculptor. Since 1996, her hundreds of commissioned cheese creations continue to capture countless media impressions on prime-time network television news, sports casts, talk shows, the Food Network’s “Unwrapped” Cheeze episode, on radio, and in print. Her carvings have delighted cheese industry clients and have amazed trade and consumer crowds at tradeshows, retail supermarkets, tailgate parties and special events across the U.S. Last year she made her debut at the Prestigious Fancy Food Show in New York. She also appeared for the first time at the New York State Fair Cheese Booth and Dairy Day breakfast and auction sculpting cheese cows, trophys, cartoon characters, and State Fair symbols introducing delighted 'fair-goers' to a whole new way to look at the art of New York cheesemakers - as works of sculptured art.
