"The Cheese Tail-Gator"
For Publix Supermarket and Wisconsin Cheese Promotion - University of Florida , the 6-foot-long cheddar gator made from seven 40lb blocks
of Wisconsin cheese attracted thousands of shoppers to Publix's Deli. Shoppers were asked to "guess the weight" of the gator and win a tailgate party
from Wisconsin Cheese and Publix. Deemed a huge media success, the gator was featured in ads and media stories. The gator was also the honored center piece at the annual
University of Florida/Publix College Tailgate Party where the gator was cut up and served from the tip of his tail to the tip of his nose,
and consumed by UF football fans.
